LET’S PLAY TRANSFORMATIONS! – Performative methods for sustainability learning WEDNESDAY 11 NOV. 19:30h
Facilitated by Maria Heras
Different kinds of learning produce different types of knowledge, which in turn support different processes of change.
Based on her field-work with local communities in Chiapas and Michoacán, Mexico, María Heras will introduce participants to arts-based research methods in Sustainability Science and all together will participate in an theatrical exploratory process through which they will experience these approaches first hand.
By combining theory with theatre-based activities and reflection on action, this workshop will explore from an embodied perspective the possibilities of participatory-theatre methods in our research practice and will bring the perspectives of all participants into a creative, aesthetical dialogue.
Maria Heras holds an MSc in Interdisciplinary Studies in Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability. She is currently finishing her PhD research at ICTA-UAB, through which she explores the interplay between arts, science and participatory methods in social learning processes. Her main research experience and interests are connected to the design and facilitation of participatory processes applying community theatre within action-research in Sustainability Science.
