ART&SCIENCE LABs ON CLIMATE CHANGE – Sharing visions about problems that matter WEDNESDAY 25 NOV. 19:30h
Dr. Stella Veciana
In this “performative-lecture”, Dr. Stella Veciana will take us on a mental and visual tour of reserach at the crossroads of art, science, technology and society, with a particular focus on Climate Change.
The talk will start with a general introduction into the social functions of art and science cooperation: from innovation and heuristics in interdisciplinary formulated research problems; to the function of memory and translation of knowledge, as that of active intervention and agency in the construction of a more sustainable society.
Specific examples of art and science research projects about climate change topics will then serve as inspiration for participants to engage in a joint participatory experiment to develop ideas on tackling climate change.
Dr. Stella Veciana is founder of the Research Arts platform (2012) which focuses on participatory art-science research for transformations towards sustainability. She earned her MA in experimental arts (University of Arts Berlin) and her PhD (University of Barcelona) in transdisciplinary research between art, science, technology and society. Currently, she teaches at Leuphana University Lüneburg and works on transdiciplinary projects for the German Agency for International Cooperation.
