SOIL, SOCIETY AND SOUL – WEDNESDAY 18 NOV. 19:30h
Freiburg Scientific Theatre
From survival in remote farms to the frenzy of mass consumption, the play addresses complex governance issues such as unsustainable supply chains, soil degradation, the limitations of market-based solutions and the difficulties of public participation, in a humorous, tongue-in-cheek manner which will bring tears of laughter and of sorrow to spectators.
After the show, audience and actors will sit together to wrap-up the evening with a candid discussion on the play. The evening will be made extra-cozy with warm soup and drinks to accompany the conversation.
The Freiburg Scientific Theatre (FST) is a group of young sustainability experts from all around the world, which grew out of the renowned Masters of Environmental Governance Program at the University of Freiburg, Germany. We use theatre to promote and facilitate inter-cultural dialogue on sustainability, and aim to create a new level of communication that engages participants with the heart as well as the mind.
Since its inception in 2012, the FST has performed at many different events throughout Germany, including academic conferences, public festivals and government sustainability program launches.
